Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the python adjustable cable lock. This cable lock is great for adding security to the items that you really care about. Most of our customers use this lock to lock their bikes to a bike rack, or their gear to a trailer or a cargo carrier. The locking mechanism holds the cable tight at any position from six inches to six feet. I'll show you how it operates here in a moment.This is where it gets its name, so the lock body kind of has the look of a python. It's a nice design.
It's easy to grab onto. The lock also allows for interchangeable cables. The cable itself is a cut resistant braided steel cable, and the lock body is rust and corrosion resistant, so you don't have to worry about any dirt or grime building up in there and causing rust. It's going to last a long time and perform well for a long time. The material over the cable is a scratch resistant vinyl coating, so that way the cable won't scratch or damage anything that it comes into contact with.
It also comes with a hook and loop strap. That way you can roll the cable up when your done, place the hook and loop strap on, it allows for compact storage. The cable itself measures three eighths of an inch in diameter.When your ready to use the unit, basically what you need to do is, you need to take the end of the cable, thread it through all the items that you want to secure, and then you make sure that this is in the unlock position, and you place the cable through. Then what you can do is you can take the key, move it to the cinch position, which is the straight up and down position. That's going to allow you to pull the cable tight through the lock body.
Cinching everything together, and then once you have it in the position you want, you move it to the lock position, and the cable will not back feed out of the lock. Nice design. Easy to use. Again, with this, it's an adjustable design, so you can lock anything from six inches to six feet at any position. So, easy to use, nice design, the keys are included.
Two keys, they're keyed alike. So either key will work on this lock.That's going to do it for today's look at the python adjustable cable lock.

The Let's Go Aero Veeme V2 bike rack works well. On both my truck and on our rv using a Stromberg Carlson bike bunk. Great products. The rack holds the bikes with no damage to the frame or paint. The python cable lock works well. I did have to enlarge the holes in the bike rack for the cable. Very easy and safe way to carry our new bikes. Thanks for all the expert advice.

Very happy with the bike rack. Assembly instructions we're perfect and we are very satisfied with the performance of The Bike Rack. Would definitely recommend to anybody who's looking for a way to transport their bicycles.

This is a good, sturdy lock--I particularly like the cinch feature. There is no cover for the keyhole, so moisture and dust could be an issue down the road. I bought it for the Aero Vee Mee V2 bike rack, but the cable doesn't fit through the lock holes on that rack (just FYI).

Great quality product and great service. There was an issue with the order and received a phone call from eTrailer customer service to make sure I was aware. The issue (my fault) was quickly fixed and the 13 locks were still delivered in a timely manner. I will be using the locks to secure very expensive ice chests to the bed of pickups. One thing that I found after having them in my hand is that the cable can be easily replaced in the event that it gets damaged or if I need a different cable length.

Purchased a pair of these cable locks. I use them to secure items in the bed of my truck - cooler, etc. I also use one to secure my kayak carrier to a fence or whatever at our launch point. I keep them stored in my truck and have worked great.

- Can Cable Lock be Used Instead of Cam Strap to Tie Down GearHey Albert; I suppose you can technically use the Cable Lock # 8428DPS as a way to tie down gear, but I wouldn't recommend it and it doesn't have any type of load rating as it's not meant for that specific application. To be on the safe side I would definitely stick with cam straps like the 8-3/16' long Rhino-Rack Cam Buckle Cinch Straps # RRRTD25L or 11-1/2' Long # RRRTD35L.
